Executive Director
Ronald Meru is CEO of Whizmo Kenya, a Chartered Marketer and seasoned commercial leader with deep roots in Africa's fintech and telecoms landscape. He previously served as Regional Sales Director at Comviva Technologies Ltd and brings extensive executive experience in driving growth across digital financial services markets. He serves as Vice Chairman of KNCCI Nairobi Chapter and as Commercial Director on the Board of Kenya Open Golf Limited.
Maryann Maina
Non-Executive Director
Maryann Maina is a seasoned entrepreneur from Kenya with over 16 years of experience across diverse industries. She excels in business development, sales, and forging partnerships with multinational corporations.
Eric Karobia
Non-Executive Director
Eric Karobia is CEO of Whizmo UAE and brings more than 20 years of experience in financial services, mobile money, and telecommunications across Africa. He has held pivotal leadership positions at M-PESA, Airtel Uganda, and Equity Group Holdings.
Kinya Kimotho
Independent Non-Executive Director
Kinya Kimotho (MBA, CPA) is a finance executive with over 20 years of experience across Diageo, East African Breweries, Nielsen Africa, and GlaxoSmithKline. She brings deep expertise in financial controls, audit, regulatory compliance, and board-level financial reporting across African and European markets.

Janet Othero is a transactions and governance lawyer and Managing Partner of Cavendrys|WAM Advocates LLP. Ranked by Chambers Global as a leading fintech lawyer from 2020 to 2024, she brings expertise in fintech regulation, data protection, digital finance, and corporate governance.

Frederick Kambo is Managing Director of the Cold Chain East Africa Fund at ARCH Emerging Markets Partners. With a background spanning JPMorgan, Standard Bank, Abraaj, and Zoscales Partners, he brings extensive experience in investment structuring, capital markets, and private equity across East Africa.

As a Chartered Marketer, he brings deep expertise in strategy, innovation, and business growth, driving scalable digital financial solutions that advance financial inclusion.
His academic credentials include a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi (UON), a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems and Technology from United States International University of Africa (USIU-A), a Postgraduate Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM-UK) and holds a Diploma in Information Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
Kevin Karuga
Director, Legal, Compliance & MLRO
Kevin Karuga is Director, Legal, Compliance & MLRO at Whizmo, drawing on a career built at the frontier of financial regulation and governance across Africa. Before joining Whizmo, he was Vice President of Legal and Group Data Protection Officer at Africa's Talking, leading compliance operations across 23 countries, a function he built from the ground up. An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Commissioner for Oaths, and Notary Public, he holds an LLB from Kabarak University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and a Master's in Public Policy and Administration from Kenyatta University.
Tabitha Muhoro
Head of Products (IT)
Tabitha Muhoro is Head of Products (IT) at Whizmo Kenya, where she leads product strategy, innovation, and the delivery of scalable digital financial solutions. With over a decade of experience across fintech, telecommunications, and digital transformation, she has successfully built and scaled products that solve complex challenges in emerging markets.
At Whizmo Kenya, she plays a key role in shaping the mobile wallet platform designed to serve the unbanked and underbanked, advancing meaningful financial inclusion across Kenya.
Tabitha holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, with practical expertise in PMP and PRINCE2 project management methodologies, and is currently pursuing the Senior Management Leadership Programme (SMLP) at Strathmore Business School.
Stephen Mbugua
Financial Controller
Stephen Mbugua is Financial Controller at Whizmo Kenya, bringing over 12 years of experience in finance, banking, and investment management. He previously served as Finance Manager at Safaricom Investment Co-operative, overseeing a KES 2.5 billion investment portfolio, and held senior roles at Equity Afia, Finserve Africa, and Equity Bank Kenya. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) and ICPAK member, he holds a BCom in Accounting from Egerton University and brings deep expertise in financial strategy, treasury, and governance.
